Our Values

At Church Without Borders we live out our purpose within the context of four gospel-centered values:

  • In a world where image is everything and nothing is ever what it seems, our culture is hungry for truth. And Jesus is the embodiment of truth [John 14:6]. There was never any disconnect between the words Jesus spoke, and the life he lived. And as we read the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit reveals truth to us, as he reveals to us Jesus on every single page [John 5:39].

  • Worship is at the core of who we are. All of us are shaped by and transformed by whatever it is that we devote ourselves to. Which is why we choose to worship Jesus. He’s the only one who is truly worthy of our devotion. And so we worship Jesus both corporately and individually, because all of life is worship [Romans 12:1].

  • Our need for community ultimately comes from the fact that we were created in the image of a Triune God [Genesis 1:27]. And although sin separates us from God and from each other, Jesus reconciles us at the cross [Ephesians 2:16]. When we do life together as God intended (in raw, gritty, Christ-centered community) we leave behind religion, embrace relationship, and demonstrate the power of the gospel to transform people’s lives.

  • A church without a mission isn’t really a church. Jesus left us behind for a reason, and that reason is to live out the ministry of reconciliation where we live, work, and play [2 Corinthians 5:18]. Church isn’t a club that we try to get people to join, but the hands and feet of Jesus that make a difference in the world . We serve Jesus by serving people [Matthew 25:40], and we serve people by showing them Jesus.

Our Core Beliefs

At Church Without Borders we hold to 6 core beliefs:

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe in the triune Godhead, eternally existent as three persons in one being: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present priestly ministry, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as on the day of Pentecost and in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit as evidenced in charismatic gifts and ministries, and in the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

  • We believe that God created man and woman in a state of sinless perfection with particular dignity as His image bearers on the earth. We believe that our first parents sinned against God and that everyone since is a sinner by nature and choice. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal punishment. We further believe in the keeping power of God.

  • We believe that the universal church is not a religious institution, but is made up of all those who have been justified by faith alone in Jesus Christ, and unified by the Spirit. The local church consists of regenerated believers who gather together regularly for worship, teaching, and celebrating the sacraments of baptism and communion. The local church operates under the leadership of qualified pastors/elders, and exists to glorify God by living Spirit-filled lives, transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
