Our Story

On Mission Together

Paster John with his wife Jen

On February 27, 2011 a small group of believers gathered in a living room, full of hope and dreaming together of planting a church. The following Sunday, Church Without Borders held it’s first service in that same living room in Shamong, NJ, followed by three more at beautiful Camp Ockanickon in Medford. Before arriving at our current home in Medford, we met at Lenape High School for a season, and even spent a summer at a Jewish Synagogue! Congregation Beth Tikvah graciously took us in and provided a place for us to worship for the summer.

Although our journey has taken us to several locations, which seems fitting for a church called Church Without Borders, our name means much more than that. Our desire is to be a church that not only crosses geographical borders, but also ethnic borders, and generational borders, and seeks to live out our faith beyond the four walls of a church building, as we follow Jesus together. If you’re looking for a place where you can encounter God’s presence, engage meaningfully with other believers, and be equipped to serve God in the unique way that he created you to...then Church Without Borders may be the place that you're looking for. Check out the Our Gatherings page for time and directions.
